Organized chronologically it conveys the ebb and flow of his great career, though in truth there was very little ebbing. He arrived fully formed, an Adonis of Baseball. Of all the legends of the game, perhaps only Ruth is more known, though Dimaggio seems more modern and hence more relatable.
Condition: Very good except for a torn-out sheet on the inner front cover of volume 2. NB that this set was issued without dustjackets.
